The previous editions of the Carrom World Cup were held in England, France and the USA. This is the 1st time that the Carrom’s one of the biggest events is going to be held in the Asia. It is expected that the Media of all countries taking part in the event will be extensively covering the event.

Internet will be provided to the news stations covering the event from the Tournament venue. Discussions are also ongoing with local TV broadcasters in providing their video rights for use by International media.

Local

Major local TV channels including VTV, DHITV, TVM and RajjeTV has already expressed interest in covering the event. Pre-tournament introductory programs will be shown weekly on these TV channels building up the excitement to the tournament. During the tournament, a special news section on the Tournament will be broadcasted during each new Bulletin of the TV channel. All Final Matches will also be telecasted live on at least two major TV channels

The main local Newspapers, Haveeru Daily and online and also Sun online will cover the event.

In addition to providing the most up-to date news on the Carrom World Cup to the local people, the coverage of this event by the local media will help to spark young children with interest to this wonderful game.

International

Major News Agencies for countries taking part in the tournament has already expressed their interest in covering the news of the tournament. At least two news agencies are expected from each of the countries taking part.

ESPN India has informed the ICF that they are willing to cover this event. Being the most favorite sports channel in India, the Maldives and Asia, ESPN will provide good exposure to the sport as well as the Maldives.

Once the tournament dates and other details are confirmed the carom association of Maldives would negotiate with other International sports channels too.
